<p>Last month I edited the <a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/galleycat/galleycat_reviews/joes_luck_the_worlds_longest_literary_remix_165680.asp">World’s Longest Literary Remix</a> contest at Galleycat&#8211;a crack team of writers rewrote a Horatio Alger novel, page by page. For my part, I wrote about how the great novelist Nathanael West tangled with Alger&#8217;s rags-to-riches novel years before we did.
