After more than a year of writing and research, The Believer has published my essay about a ragged group of poets during the Great Depression — “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Over the summer, I also edited and wrote for the World’s Longest Literary Remix contest at Galleycat.

Last month I edited the World’s Longest Literary Remix contest at Galleycat–a crack team of writers rewrote a Horatio Alger novel, page by page. For my part, I wrote about how the great novelist Nathanael West tangled with Alger’s rags-to-riches novel years before we did. Check it out on pages 25 and 26 of the remixed novel.

June has been busy–we launched the World’s Longest Literary Remix contest at Galleycat.  In the last couple months, we also launched GalleyCat Reviews. I also had a chance to interview Red Riding novelist David Peace, New Yorker staff writer David Grann and biographer Marion Meade.
